In an ancient city haunted by the ghosts of forgotten melodies, one musician dances with the past.

Corrie left college behind without a degree, but she's still got her music. In 1990s New Orleans she enters a world-renowned piano competition for emerging pianists dominated by men. She's determined to make a statement. Ultimately, she chooses a piece composed by the famed New Orleans composer Ignace Leblanc against her mentor's advice to play something safer. The work, Le Fleuve, is volatile, a reflection of New Orleans' rough and chaotic history. But Corrie feels connected to it and the world needs to hear her version and prove something to her asshole of an ex-fiance who is also competing.

In 1893, in a city that has undergone many changes, a young woman named Marie Guidry is the daughter of a wealthy landowner. She has serious plans to never marry and drown herself in her own music. She has a gift, one that irritates her parents. She can listen to music and play it perfectly upon hearing it once. And she has taken to writing her own compositions. But when she is set to marry Ignace Leblanc, a man several years older than her, Marie must, at the urging of her parents, keep it secret. It is one thing for a woman to be talented at the piano, but to compose their own music is unacceptable. So she keeps it secret until one day her husband finds her secret collection of compositions.

"I want to defile you, destroy you, corrupt you in the most sinfully beautiful way. Break you until you're completely mine." "And then?" "Then I'll piece you back together, of course." He took another step in her direction, closing the distance between them. "Love can be holy." He said but the look in his eyes promised anything but. "It can be kind and gentle. It can be the flutter inside your chest when you feel someone touch you, the blush staining your cheeks when someone brushes his knuckles over them." To prove his point further, he took his knuckles and brushed them over her sharp jawline, all the way to her lightly dusted cheeks and sharp cheekbones. "However, love can also be vile. Dark and all-consuming. The kind of love that makes you want to fall to your knees and let it destroy you." He let his palm rest on her soft skin and felt the warmth she provided so carelessly travel to him. "That's all I can offer you." Nathaniel Russ is a man devoid of passion. Cold, stern, a tragedy with skin. A wreckage just seconds before the crash. A writer. He spends countless hours teaching philosophy at the local university, waiting for something to make the words crawl out of him with the same vigorous appetite they once did. And he finds it, at the most unexpected moment. Guinevere Westbrook is a woman haunted by the sins of her past. And she just happens to be the muse he had been waiting for, even though she refuses to accept it. So, he orchestrates a game meant for two. A game. That's all it was. Until it wasn't. "You're unbearable!" He kicks her with utter contempt. "Please tell me where I'm wrong, causing you discomfort was not my intention," she said crying, causing him to hit her against the ground again. "Do you think you can live with good intentions? Didn't you have all the time you wanted to change and learn? You still dare to ask for more!" He yells at her with hatred, he blamed her for being the one will cause a woman to be beaten; He didn't want to be that kind of man. However, what he lived with her caused him to bring out what he hated the most about himself from within. -Forget it love- said a woman who was next to her- it's not worth it- this dog was supposed to be her friend, she was supposed to support her just like she did; however he managed so that he and she hated each other and thus be able to steal it. The woman on the floor does not know how much she was framed and harmed by her naivety, nor did she know that this was the beginning of her misfortunes. Because of that woman she did not stop suffering, wherever she went she suffered verbal or physical abuse and everything was orchestrated by this woman; she didn't know until she was about to faint. "Why?" She asked this unarmed woman without knowing why she hated him so much. She never did anything to hurt him. She just laughed viciously without answering him, she didn't have to waste her time with an insect; leaving La to die imprisoned in the house where she was kidnapped. "Answer me!" She got up from her bed screaming "Eh? This looks like my room; Did I reincarnate myself in the past?" She ran to the bathroom just to see that her assumption was correct. She thanked the heavens for this second chance by promising that she wouldn't be fooled a second time.

Alex Thompson was due to marry her high school sweet heart Eric Ramirez. Period. That's it. It's about as exciting as her life ever got really. She had a job, a good job but an unconscious reality was that she was bored. She had her back blown out once every three months, if that, and an overbearing mother who made her life hell. *enter Mitch* Eve 'Mitch' Mitchell. An outgoing, strong minded, independent, raging homosexual, lover to all, charming British soul. They meet by accident after a tough day at the office for Alex. A mistaken identity was all it took for a tiny little kiss. A moment blown all out of proportion for the Christian-bred Miss Thompson and her life turns more miserable than she anticipated for every time she turned around...Mitch was there behind her. Something about Mitch was new and fresh and her soul was just what Alex needed (little did she know). Secrets from the past are brought to the surface. A sad ending to a young lady's life. A realisation that family isn't always blood related. Alcohol isn't a medicine. Violence isn't a key. Hearts were never meant to be broken. Two things to take away: you never know what is going on in someone's head and the most important thing...you never know what happens behind closed doors. A/N just a random story about two people who meet accidentally. Plays with gender norms and very inclusive of LGBTQ (being a member myself). Could be triggering I'm not sure as some identity questions are thrown around. It does include smoking, drinking, some homophobia, profanities, violence and smut. Also anything in brackets with A/N means authors note and that's just me leaving a little comment. Enjoy...

Lila Burns knows pain too well. One moment outside the hospital changes everything. A man cloaked in shadows and quiet command brushes past her, his presence stealing her breath. When his bouquet slips from his hand, Lila bends to gather it, only to be halted by the deep, velvety tone of his voice. He picks them up himself, plucks a single flower, and presses it into her palm-a gesture so intimate, so startling, it leaves her trembling. He walks away without another word, flanked by two men dressed in black, luxury and danger woven into every detail of their presence. But Lila cannot forget the look in his eyes, the unspoken promise in the way he touched her hand. Soon, she learns who he is-the ruthless owner of a criminal empire, a man both worshiped and feared in the underworld. Dark. Possessive. Untouchable. A man who has no business noticing her... yet does. Drawn to him against her better judgment, Lila is pulled into a world of whispered threats, dangerous power, and desire that feels as lethal as it does undeniable. In his arms, she is cherished in ways she never believed possible-but in his world, love can be the most dangerous weapon of all. --- Would you like me to turn this into a **back cover blurb style** (short, punchy, and marketable) or keep it more **novel-synopsis style** (lush, longer, and cinematic)?
The Forgotten nameless and the elf princess by EchoCaleb22

Long ago, the Void claimed a soul of humankind, stripping away their name, their history, their face. All memory of them faded from the world, save for the chorus of whispers the Void left behind. Thus they became The Nameless Whispered One - forgotten, yet forever haunted. But though the Void unmade them, it also left them tools. The Nameless moved like a shadow across stone, their steps forgotten as soon as they were made. Doors barred to others opened at their touch, for no lock remembered to resist them. Their daggers struck unseen, their enemies already fallen before their names could be spoken. Where others saw a curse, the Nameless carried silence as a blade. Yet even shadows need an anchor. In the halls of the evergreen court lived a princess, ageless as the trees from which her crown was carved. Her memory was unbroken, her gaze unshaken. Where all others forgot the Nameless moments after meeting them, the princess remembered. Always. She walked beside them when no one else could. She stayed their hand when the whispers urged blood. She gave them a place in her story, when they had none of their own. The people feared her choice. They whispered that she risked her throne and her immortal line by binding herself to a soul touched by the Void. But still she kept the Nameless at her side - the forgotten blade and the eternal princess. Together they became a legend: one lost, one unyielding. The Nameless slipped through shadows, unseen and unremembered, while the princess stood radiant, the only one who could call them back from the abyss. And so the tale is told: when a shadow passes silently through the forest and no one recalls its shape, it is the Nameless at work. And when you see a lone princess walking the moonlit woods, know she is not alone - for her memory is the one chain the Void itself could not break.
