Penelope Collins used to be a party girl, she used to have it all. That is, until her mom suddenly died leaving her and her father alone. 

Penelope goes out of control and drinking was her only escape away from her life but, the drinking was more serious than she realized. Fast forward a few months and Penelope and her father ended up in Miami, living life on the beach. 

She didn't want to make friends. She didn't even want to go out let alone tell people her past. All she wanted was to go through life without anyone getting too close to her. She was afraid to let anyone in, afraid of being left alone again.

That is, until Zack Adams came into her life. He was  persistent, stubborn as hell and when Penelope wanted to run away, she couldn't seem to get away from him. 

Penelope found through all of this was that Zack would never leave her, he would stick by her; forever and always. And when their relationship goes further, she couldn't be more happier but sometimes, Zack got a little too close for comfort.

But Penelope took Zack for granted and when he was the one lying in a hospital bed, knocking on heavens door, she realised that she needed him more than ever. He promised he would never leave her but, what would happen if he did? After everything they had been through, why leave each other now? 

Before anyone else can save you, you need to save yourself.

This Romance story is about one sixteen year old girl who has a past and one seventeen year old boy who wanted to know. It's about learning to save yourself before anyone else can, it's about building up those walls so that no one can be let in but when someone else knocks them down, you wonder why you ever built them in the first place.
