Highschool Sweethearts
Katelyn has been in and out of the foster system since her mother died when she was young. After her father gets put in jail again, she gets sent to live with the Thomas family. The Thomas's are a very well-off family with four boys. Their house is usually the main hangout for the boys and their friends. Kate hasn't ever lived with siblings before, let alone this many boys, so it's a big change for her. Daniel is your typical high school football player; he's got the looks, the muscles, talent, and even the overbearing dad who wants him to go pro. Daniel, however, really couldn't care less about a career in football, he loves the game, but it's his dad's dream for him to go pro, not his own. At least not anymore. He spends most of his free time away from his house and hanging out at either the Thomas or the Copperfield house. He can't wait to go off to college with his friends and get away from his dad and the stupid little town he grew up in. How will things change for them over the next year? This will be a series of 4, but the other books will be spin-offs and can be read as stand-alone books. They will, however, be published in chronological order. Full warning, this book is much shorter than I intend on making the spin-offs. I was planning on writing book two as the first in the series but found myself needing more of a prequel to all three other books, and so I chose to write something from their high school years. Jale has bounced around foster home after foster home over the last few years. Finally a senior going to graduate and about to turn 18 in a few short weeks. Can she see that there is good in life to stay and enjoy? Or will she stay focused on the only things she knows for sure, the people supposed to offer you protection and support can be the most horrible part of your life and life seems hopeless. Especially when you are focused on what happened years ago, that makes life so bad. Can new people in her life help her see it can get better? Or will she follow through with her birthday plans. *Trigger warnings in this book* I don't know what will affect everyone, but topics of abuse, death, rape, self harm, eating disorders, suicide, general mental health things and I am sure others, they are a main part of this story. Kate was used to dealing with unfair consequences. Having a less than ideal home life and no one else to support her, she had learned to deal with things on her own. She had learned not to feel and especially not to hope. So when someone new comes into her life Kate does the best thing she can think of, she shuts them out. But, after a series of events in the course of one day, they are thrown back together, and Kate is given the chance to explain herself. Explain why she was so guarded and why she had closed herself off in the first place. And maybe along the way Kate learns that things aren't always so bad. That feeling and hoping aren't the worst things in the world. ***Warning: Mention of abuse is included in this story. Please don't read if that is a trigger for you in any way. My life in highschool has been a rattle. My life in general has been like that. I have to deal with the same problems everyday, a broken household, crazy highschool life and the saddest of all problems, a sick brother. Sometimes I wish I could just have one perfect day. Everything back to normal and in tip top shape, just like it used to be. Spending time with friends at school and having my beautiful, hot girlfriend back. Highschool is not exactly what we all think it is and our principal is not the most trustworthy person who everyone thinks he is. That's beacause the school's money also started disappearing ever since he got here. But I don't expect myself to just sit and do nothing.
