One day, Earth fell under siege by human-like creatures, leaving cities in ruins and humanity on the brink of extinction. Survival became the only law. For a year and a half, Kai fought tooth and nail to stay alive-until the day he was captured and thrown into a prison ruled by the very creatures he despised but failed to fight against.

Inside the walls, Kai encounters a ragtag group of survivors, each carrying scars of their own. Among them is Naim, a cold and thick-skinned guy the others call an angel. Despite their rough start, Kai can't ignore the bruises that never seem to leave Naim's skin-or the secrets hiding behind his quiet gaze.

As Kai pieces together what's happening within the walls, he realizes survival isn't enough anymore. With that, he began to plot a plan to escape from the facility, and with Naim's help, would they escape their fate?

Nova disguise as a boy to enter the military school. If she is discovered as a girl, she will be kicked out. She is desperate to hide from trackers who have been following her for a dozen years. No one would think to look for her in an all-male military school. She hides among werewolves and is one of the very few nonshifters at the school. She catches the new instructor's curiosity, and her identity is threatened. He claims to be her mate, but she knows that her kind don't have a mate and desperately tries to avoid him. If he stumbles upon her true identity, she is screwed. "What are you doing?!" growls his highness, ripping the knife from my hands. It tingles as his fingers close around my wrist. Fresh blood flows from the wound, turning his hands red. Deep throaty sounds, rumbling in his chest. "You hurt yourself," he says softly, pain evident in his voice. I look up and frown. "It's just a small cut," I reply, annoyed. None of the other cadets get this kind of attention. Besides, we have to learn this to pass the exam. "Shhh, it's going to be okay," he says, pressing me close. My whole side explodes with sparks. It tickles me. "You have to stop hurt yourself. Why are you even here? How am I going to protect you here?" he asks angrily. "I don't need your protection!" I shout, pushing him away. I get an angry growl back. Quickly I grab another knife and throws it over my shoulder, hitting bulls' eye. He glares at me, and the room has gone completely silent. That's when I discover that I may have gone too far with the insanely possessive highness, even though I'm grateful for the extra lessons he gives me. Then suddenly everyone hurries out of the training area. Leaving me alone with the growling, red eyed alpha. They thought the syringes would save them. Instead, they became the only thing holding back the broken pieces of their minds - and the monster waiting to take over. In a world where infection creeps in silence and trust is as fragile as glass, a small band of the half-infected cling to each other inside their broken refuge. Their bodies look human, but their damaged brains betray them, pulling them closer to the mindless dead with every surge. Each carries their own cracks: Naomi, haunted by flashes of a past she doesn't remember. Ronan, the watchful protector who never lets his guard drop. Liora, the steady calm that holds the group together. Dante, strong and sharp, hiding what he cannot say. Kai, the lighthearted spark in the darkness. Mara, cracking under the weight of fear. But survival is never just about food and shelter. It's about trust, secrets and the triggers no one dares to name. And when those patterns surface, they may reveal that the greatest danger isn't outside the walls... it's already within.
