Niran is the MC, and Kit is the ML. I made Niran nineteen years old because the story is set in 1960. At that time, most men over twenty were already expected to marry. Unlike Kit, who studies at university in the city, Niran lives in a remote village with little to worry about. For young men in his world, life usually revolves around marrying early, having children, and then spending old age surrounded by their family until the end of their days.
