Long ago, she met a monster; an entity of corruption, fueled by choices from his past, controlled by misery, banished to the isolated darkness that was constructed to keep him imprisoned. He was a creature most feared. Buried by sins he couldn't undo, haunted by the chapters of a story he wished were unwritten.

Yet, she didn't cower.

To him, she was his anchor, his solace. His home. When he gazed into her eyes, the storm inside him fell quiet. But he failed to protect her. And whatever traces remained of his soul shattered into a million fragments. His sanctuary, his happiness, was suddenly limp in his arms.
