How does it feel to be not in control of your own life? 

Despite living quite lavishly, Raya does not feel privileged enough to decide things on her own.

Her parents chose her college degree, enrolled her in law school despite her protests, and now dictating who she should and should not marry?

Raya used to be in a long term relationship with her boyfriend Rafael, a guy that her parents approved of. However, due to some circumstances that broke her heart, Raya and Rafael parted ways.

Jared, on the other hand, is a 'ruggish' guy, (as Raya's parents call him) that stood quite literally with Raya. Experiencing the same thing that she experienced with her parents, Raya found an ally in Jared. He gives her a breather from the pressures of being the only daughter of Rico Ynarez and Juliana de la Vega.

Shall Raya continue to let her parents decide for her, or break from their shackles and follow her heart desires?
