After the spread of the Cicatrix Maledictum, which split the galaxy in half and led to the creation of the Nihilus Empire, humanity was forced to commit the most unforgivable Heresy: the creation of female Space Marines. Not as legendary warriors in the service of the Empire, but as necessary outcasts to fill the soldier quota needed to prevent the destruction of humanity.
