I was standing in the middle of the fire, whispering to the fire that always answered. Letting it grow and dance the way it wanted to. It was weird to have all of this fire around you and not have it burn or touch your fragile skin. With each match and whisper the fire grew, but yells found my ears. My name was screamed into the smoke. No, there couldn't be anyone here? I thought I was alone. I am always alone.

This is Hazel, she is a normal girl who has a normal life. She doesn't fit in, anywhere, and her parents have forgotten she was there. Typical teenage world. Until the day she finds out about her ex. His shirt and his blood are found, and something abnormal starts to form. She goes out and tries to figure out whats happening. The corner of his mouth tilts upward slightly. I smile again. A smile!? A tiny one, but still. "Hm. So I got you to smile, that's progress, yeah? Can I get your name now?" He continues to shake his head. I fold my arms, leaning back in my seat. "Yeah, it's definitely sticking. Teddy.....It has a nice ring to it, yeah?" He sighs, the first sound I have ever heard him make. "No." . . . *Jordan* Teddy!? Seriously!? She gave me a fucking NICKNAME!? What the hell does this girl want!? I feel someone looking at me, so I look around to see who it is. I stop and lock eyes with a man who has short brown hair, brown eyes and a square jaw. Our connection breaks and I can finally look away. What just happened? I felt a pull to him like I had to go to him. Slowly getting on my bike, I make my way home. I can't stop thinking about him. It was a Sunday night, family night for the Greens. They were playing a board game when it happened. At exactly 11:11 pm; a time for wishes, a sixteen year old girl wished for true love one day. Scientist's experiments had gone wrong. They call them the "Stone Devils". They were escaping from the labs and into our world. Made of stone and all male. Winged creatures that come into the night. Steal and kill their prey. That's what she heard but she didn't believe it until a few nights ago. (kinda like the movie Warm Bodies)

"Guys, I got another note," I say as I sit down at lunch. Vanessa and Xander were here but Hazel was missing. "Where's Hazel?" I question, eyeing her empty seat. "Out with Adam today, it's Friday," Xander says whilst I munch on my sandwich. "Did you say you got another note?" He asks and I hold my finger up and try to swallow my food as quickly I can so I can speak again. He has been bugging me for a week, trying to talk to me and he even asked me to come to Logan's party on the weekend. My eyes must have been drilling holes into his face because he turns in my directions. I quickly turn back to Xander and Vanessa who were talking about their Art projects. "Okay, so if not Sebastien then who?" I voice my thoughts out loud. "Maybe you have a secret admirer," Xander says in all seriousness and I burst out laughing. My laugh attracts some attention because 1) it was loud, 2) I snorted. "Yeah right," I say once I sober up. *** A secret admirer. Everyone wishes they had one but not Amara. Her secret admirer has been torturing her ex-bullies and even though that's what she wanted before, now all she wants is for it to stop.
