Strangers to bestfriends is something most commonly happens. Became buddies from a mutual friend? Yeah, seen plenty of it.Even hatred turned amity isn't rare anymore. But a camaraderie born out of pure annoyance and mini debt? Now that's something unheard of. That's what Wonwoo thought, until he was the victim of the very plot by the fate. Wonwoo just wanted to peacefully complete his university years and be done with it. He was successfully maneuvering it, too. But then, Mingyu happened. It was a small borrowing, but turned into unwanted money mess. Nevertheless, that has been one of Wonwoo's fateful interaction. A friend he trust his life with. He wasn't just a friend, he was 'the' friend. That's what Mingyu had been to him. And Wonwoo was glad it happened. He wouldn't trade it for anything else. However, what happens when the said best friend has feelings more than a supposed friend has? Was Wonwoo capable of returning those feelings? And most importantly, if not the feelings, was Wonwoo ready to lose the friendship which was more precious than anything else?

Kim Mingyu's life is built around love, loss, and responsibility. At just 26, he's a single father to his four-year-old son, Hansol, after losing his wife during childbirth. Everything becomes more complicated when Mingyu, out of desperation, tells his visiting parents that he has a new lover-hoping to stop their constant pressure to move on. But now they want to meet the supposed boyfriend, and with no one else to turn to, Mingyu asks Wonwoo to help him one last time: "Just pretend... just for a week." Wonwoo agrees, for Hansol's sake. For Mingyu's sake. Maybe even for his own. But fake smiles start to feel real. Late-night conversations blur the line between pretending and longing. And the way Mingyu looks at Wonwoo when Hansol falls asleep in his arms makes it harder and harder to remember what they're not.
