She crossed her arms tight, holding herself together. "I gave up everything for this. For you. I could've had a corner office, an apartment with views, silence that didn't hurt." Her voice broke. "But I chose this place. I chose you. And the second I made you uncomfortable, you threw the city in my face like it was some kind of character flaw." He didn't say anything for a long moment. Just stood there, rain dripping from the brim of his hat, guilt thick on his face. Then quietly "I don't know how to love someone the right way yet. I ain't never had to."
