I should've seen it coming in my parents' silence. when they have let me face it alone.
Now i see it in my bruises and my body. how delusional was i to think just because he was known to be cruel to other doesn't mean he would do that to me.

political career demands such toughness. i convinced myself.

But it went far worse. Worse than he had done with any other person who came across his way.
I drifted away by the time he realized.
