The year is 59 AD, and the Civian Empire stretches from sunrise to sunset on the shores of the Sea of Amara.

From the islands of Rhoda and Rina in the west to the sands of Seba and Qurinia in the east.

Emperor Delicius Gallus Russus has ruled the empire as the first Emperor for nearly forty years, putting down uprisings, barbarian incursions, and petty squabbles amongst the ruling elite.

But now his health has begun to fade, and now, with multiple male heirs, the Empire is left to wonder who shall succeed him once the inevitable comes to pass.

This, as you can imagine, has sparked a wave of heated debates, brutal infighting, and bloody swaths of intrigue and this is where our story begins as we follow the lives of the Emperor's family and others whose lives have been impacted by the storm clouds that have begun to circle overhead.
