Finn is a young emo boy, fresh out of high school. One day, he wakes up in a cold sweat after a nightmare. The devilish face still lingering in his mind, watching the creature destroy and mutilate him. He comes to find that this is no ordinary creature. It's not human and it's not a dream. He is real. and he is obsessed with Finn.

The character "The Cable Man" came from a dream i had, and stuck with me ever since. He has lingered in my mind for quite awhile now, so I'm finally deciding to write a story about it. I usually post poems on Twitter, so i already have a sense of writing, but i haven't created a long-form story in a couple years, so this wont be the best, but i will try.

He still remembers it. The sound of bones breaking. The ringing. The voices. Their voices. His voice. But it shouldn't be possible. He sat in his bed, the darkness of the night making it hard to see at first. Sweat on his face- no whole body made it seem like just a bad dream. It was just that, wasn't it? Just a bad dream. But why was he feeling like he was being watched? Someones, or somethings eyes on his neck. Just waiting for a moment of weakness. Waiting for Finney to let his guard down, just to snap it. Something that only worsens it though, is that the other boys, which he had dreamed about, seem weird, strangely different than before. Or, Finney wakes up in the past with memories of the basement, but is telling himself it was nothing but a bad dream. But, of course, it is not. Because what kind of person am I to just let him and the other grave-boys just forget? Fair warning for this fic, English isn't my first language, so mistakes can/will happen. Finn has been the man of the house since he was a child. Simply surviving, he doesn't want any more responsibility than he's already burdened with at 18 - until he helps a mysterious abused girl he met near his new workplace. His caring and protective nature quickly brings her into his life but their budding relationship falls apart just as fast, until an incident and the subsequent events make them slowly come back together. Later, when Finn loses the only other thing he cares about in life he's faced with the choice of driving her away or being vulnerable enough to depend on her. Maybe she can finally make him feel taken care of back; the one thing that he's always truly needed. A more mature and healthy rewrite of a book I started writing when I was 14, inspired by the trashy, dramatic, emo love stories I was obsessed with on this platform a decade ago. I was dealing with a lot at the time so I came up with this book idea, where both main characters have dramatized aspects of myself in them, as a way to make myself feel lovable, so writing this now is a nostalgic and creative way of looking back, processing, and letting go of the emotions I was going through as an adolescent.
