4 parts Ongoing The students look scared, but most are excited. Who wouldn't be for this class?
Many eyes are glued to the man at the front of the lecture hall, busy writing the notes down for our first assignment. I grab my phone to take a picture of it and that's when I notice that a few others have done the same.
But not for that reason.
I freeze, staring down at the girls a few rows below me, taking pictures of the Professor.
Soon, it's time for questions.
I don't raise my hand.
Instead, I listen in on the conversation between the girls, busy flicking their hair back or leaning forward in a seductive manner.
"Are all the professor's as handsome as you, sir?"
My stomach drops when he looks back at the woman, the grey orbs darkening.
"How old are you, sir?" Another one asks.
"Do you happen to do any extra help sessions if we get stuck?"
My heart feels heavy as I lean back in my seat, pulling at the sleeves of my blouse.
There's a sudden slam of something dropping onto the desk at the front. It echoes violently across the lecture hall, silencing any more talk or giggles.
"I'm saying this once and once only." Professor Abel begins, glaring up at us. "I will not tolerate any talk or conversations that are beyond what I teach nor will I tolerate any actions that are not appropriate towards me. I am your professor, nothing else, nothing more. And also," my heart skips when the grey orbs rest on me, his lips slowly curling upwards. "my fiancé wouldn't appreciate it."
I can almost feel the defeat and grumbles of some of the students as the silver band on his ring finger shimmers under the bright lights.
My breathing quickens as my hand makes its way to the thin chain wrapped around my neck. The feeling of my own ring gives me a little moment of reassurance as he turns away, ending the lecture.
What a year this will be.
