#WattpadShortys2025 first poetry submission. This prose poem reflects on the precarious existence of the Cape Peninsula baboons, challenging official narratives that reduce them to mere statistics. It highlights the deep connection between the baboons, the land, and local heritage, exposing how bureaucratic "management" masks ongoing population decline and ecological erasure. Through rich imagery and emotional resonance, the poem mourns loss, calls out the dismissal of dedicated conservationists, and confronts human responsibility for environmental degradation. Ultimately, it raises profound questions about memory, truth, and the urgency of bearing witness to protect not only the baboons but the shared natural legacy they represent. Thick Skin, Blue Soul

13 parts Ongoing

This is how I found peace after being misunderstood. This is what happens when the noise goes away and I can hear my own voice again. These poems came from times when I wasn't sure of myself, when I had to learn to let go, and when I had to learn to believe in myself. They are about taking my time to heal, being careful with love, and finding strength in the quiet places. It's not about being broken. It's about what you need to do to rebuild myself when the world keeps telling me that I don't deserve to be who I am, Themes: healing, survival, false blame, emotional abuse, self-forgiveness, resilience, and rebirth.
