Mulan meets The Assassin's Blade in this sweeping, Mongolian- and Turkish-inspired fantasy novella.

When war threatens the steppes, a young woman defies tradition and disguises herself to take her father's place in the army. But this isn't the tale you know. Amid brutal training grounds, ancient magic, and fractured loyalties, she must become more than a soldier - she must become a weapon.

As battle lines are drawn and hearts tested, honour alone won't be enough to survive.

With threads of enemies to lovers, romance, found family and rebellion, this retelling twists the classic Mulan folklore into a fierce new legend of its own

NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE LIVE-ACTION MULAN! Editing in Progress Excerpt: As Shang watched, a small dark head shot out of the water downstream of the searching men but not quite as far downstream as the horse. Relief shot through Shang. Then the horse screamed in panic and Shang saw Ping turn in the water and take off after the horse. The boy would reach the frantic animal before anyone else! With a curse, he took off down the shoreline. He watched helplessly as Ping reached the horse and began to cut the creature free of its confines with a knife he had somehow managed to hang on to in the river. He saw when the horse finally came free, reared up in the water and then came back down...directly on top of Ping! With an inarticulate shout of fear, Shang threw himself into the river and swam out to where he had seen Ping disappear under the horse. The other men had caught up, then, and were working to calm the frantic animal and get it to shallower, calmer waters. The wagon and all the supplies it carried were lost to the river. Shang dove beneath the surface and began to search frantically in the dark, churning water for any sign of Ping. Description: What would happen if Shang found out that Mulan was a girl before the battle in the mountains? Would he follow the law and reveal her for who she truly is or would he allow her to continue her training as a soldier and hope that she makes it through the war alive and undiscovered? Will he listen to honor or to his heart?

The Prince of Thickwood Forest

36 parts Complete

When spoiled Prince Waylan is sent to a monastery to cure his mischief, an ambush leaves him lost, amnesiac, and mistaken for a shoemaker's apprentice. As he fumbles through labor, exile, and the disdain of a girl who sees right through him, the kingdom begins to unravel. As two kingdoms are caught in a generational war, evil King Thrustborne seeks to destroy the true heir to his throne, hidden somewhere in Waylan's homeland. One of the prince's five childhood companions-a charming knight, a musical archer, a female blacksmith, a lady dragonmaster, or a humble shoemaker's daughter-may hold the key. Now, the Companion 6 must join together to save their world. In a tale of mistaken identities, medieval robots, and trainable dragons, Waylan must decide who he is without a crown-and whether legacy is something you claim, or something you earn. An original story, not a fanfic, mild battle action, clean romance, suitable for all ages.
