There are hundreds of stories the people of Thedas could share about the Grey Wardens, Their founding, and putting an end to the first blight after it lasted for a century. The final battle of Garahel over the Freemarches, atop his feathered mount. The Hero of Ferelden, who against all odds ended the fifth blight with the least Wardens in history. Or even Rook, who ended a double blight, and three gods. But this story isn't about any of them. The Warden's here are known only to each other, and those they gave their lives to defend.

My name is Dawn Cousland. I had a normal life, a loving mother and a caring father. An annoying older brother that I loved. Until the night Father send his army to Ostagar to help with the upcoming Blight. Then Arl Howe, my father's friend, struck. He betrayed us, killing everyone in the Keep. I had to leave my mother and father to die, as I fled with Duncan, a Grey Warden, to become one myself. The only one that escaped was my brother, Fergus, only because he left with the army. With the help of Alistair, another Grey Warden, I must stop this Blight. I must end this war and prove that I can do something. I must get revenge from Howe. I am a Cousland. I am a Grey Warden. I am a hero.
