In loving and not being loved

Kiyomi spent her entire life becoming the person everyone else wanted her to be. Though she dreamed of becoming an artist, she was raised to believe that love meant obedience, sacrifice, and putting others' needs before her own. Sweet, gentle, and always willing to please, she learned to mistake self-denial for devotion.
