Aria kept to herself, crouched by the water's edge, scrubbing blood from her arm. She wasn't the kind of woman who smiled at strangers or offered comfort to scared kids. She had learned long ago that kindness only got you hurt. Her sharp tongue and sharper eyes kept most of the group at a distance. That was how she preferred it.
