Some women are born privileged, their legacy already built up from the moment they are conceived, and they stick to their role for their entire life.
But Forsythia Bounds isn't one of those women.
Born Davina Elizabeth D'Souza, she was handed a bad card in the game of life. Her mother died when she was young, and ever since, she had been stuck to deal with her abusive, bed-ridden father alone. But soon enough, she tires of her unlucky life, and so, she is sent out into the world, alone.
Enter Alaric Provich, a dandy, whimsical, extravagant man who forms a friendship with the young lady. Through Alaric, Davina gets to live the life she had always dreamed of. However, beige-colored reality hits this new flashy parade of pearls and glitter, and Davina is left to rebuild, creating something with far more gossip fuel than an outfit clash.
Her own destiny.
Alex Thompson was due to marry her high school sweet heart Eric Ramirez. Period. That's it. It's about as exciting as her life ever got really. She had a job, a good job but an unconscious reality was that she was bored. She had her back blown out once every three months, if that, and an overbearing mother who made her life hell.
*enter Mitch*
Eve 'Mitch' Mitchell. An outgoing, strong minded, independent, raging homosexual, lover to all, charming British soul. They meet by accident after a tough day at the office for Alex. A mistaken identity was all it took for a tiny little kiss. A moment blown all out of proportion for the Christian-bred Miss Thompson and her life turns more miserable than she anticipated for every time she turned around...Mitch was there behind her. Something about Mitch was new and fresh and her soul was just what Alex needed (little did she know).
Secrets from the past are brought to the surface. A sad ending to a young lady's life. A realisation that family isn't always blood related. Alcohol isn't a medicine. Violence isn't a key. Hearts were never meant to be broken.
Two things to take away: you never know what is going on in someone's head and the most important thing...you never know what happens behind closed doors.
A/N just a random story about two people who meet accidentally. Plays with gender norms and very inclusive of LGBTQ (being a member myself). Could be triggering I'm not sure as some identity questions are thrown around. It does include smoking, drinking, some homophobia, profanities, violence and smut. Also anything in brackets with A/N means authors note and that's just me leaving a little comment. Enjoy...
