Kai is the school bully: reckless, charming, carefree, and amazingly good and pushing Novas buttons. he pretends to fall for her, a stupid bet he made with his friends. he starts playing a game she has no interest in joining. she makes it very clear she's not falling for his games. Two enemies, consistently pushed together. a classroom too small, a seat far too close.
