Caught in the shifting shadows of his realm, he had searched every corner, every creature bound by destiny's law. The bond promised to him, the soulmate who should have anchored his existence slipped further from reach, elusive as smoke.

Humans were fragile things, sparks splitting against the eternity, and he rarely spared them a thought. Yet fate had wound its thread beyond his comprehension.

A fragile world of mortals, where no soulmate was ever meant to be found.

To her, he did not exist.
To him, she was everything he could not yet grasp.

In a world divided between mortals and the supernatural, her life takes an unexpected turn when the Shadow King discovers she is his mate. As their bond deepens, reality begins to unravel, dragging her into a realm of beauty, danger, and secrets no human was meant to see.

But destiny comes with a price.
Will she survive the pull of shadows or be consumed by them?

By a chance encounter, Lucien meets his true love, his fated. In his world, vampires and humans reside together mostly without conflict. There is a mutual understanding. Vampires need blood and humans supply it willingly in trade. Throw into the mix, Jocelyn, a sweet-smelling girl with a personality and attitude that blazes just as red as her hair. Jocelyn is visiting from a land unsettled, as of yet, by vampires where humans are still the hunters. She has only ever known disdain for Lucien's kind. Can Lucien change Jocelyn's mind before time runs out? Excerpt..... I stood up, leaned across the table, on my palms, smiled cooly, and said, "I'm not allowed to call you dinner." Her eyes widened, and she dropped her glass. The glass clanked against her dinner plate and crumbled. She immediately looked down at it and frantically started picking up the pieces. "Leave it for a servant," I sniped at her. Reginald, our head waiter, promptly appeared at her side and started picking up shards. Our servants were specially trained on how to clean up messes without having bloody accidents. She looked up at me with a renewed sense of hostility. "I will do it myself!" Reginald didn't move. He is trained to insist. "Please, Miss?" he asked quietly. He took hold of the piece of glass in her hand and pulled. She squeaked in pain and held her hand up in front of her face. It was in plain view so that everyone could see. Her finger had been sliced open. The sweet smell got so strong that it was almost irresistible. Prompt number: 11. Vampires are bound by an ancient destiny: their soulmate is always human, and this bond is governed by three rules. The smell of their soulmate's blood is irresistible, its taste is sweeter than anything else, and if the love is unrequited, it can be fatal. Fearing this inevitable bond, most vampires try to avoid it. But what happens when one of them discovers that their soulmate is a human who not only rejects them but loathes them?

"I don't like it when you think about things other than me," he said Is this the start of his madness, or is he already drowned in insanity? She is his heart.........She is the eternal echo God cast into existence for his life. ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●● He is taking every step near to her, his deep dark eyes looking at her serene, calm face... she is looking directly into his deep, dark ebony eyes... she can clearly see the insanity in his eyes... "Sweetheart, I told you not to think about other things.... but why would you like to provoke me... ha, " his voice is deadly low, sending an electrifying jolt. She is just standing in front of him looking into his sinister soul... He touched her cheek gently, rubbing the soft, gentle, dried tear marks.. He kissed her forehead... she closed her eyes, accepting her fate from which she tried to run away.... "Tell me, sweetheart, what punishment should I give him." A dark mysterious smirk playing on his handsome face... "He is your sister's soon to be husband," she said as he didn't know. He chuckled, a mocking, sinister, extremely insane smile
