In 2009, Hermione Granger lives a rather pathetic existence - she cannot get a promotion at the Department of the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, her husband is too preoccupied being Head Auror to care, and she cannot conceive a child. When she has finally had enough, she hexes Amos Diggory's teacup (as he was treating her like his secretary), quits her job, and kicks Ron out (as he was shagging Romilda Vane). While on the train to the annual Hogwarts Gala, her nose in the latest Outlander novel (Drums of Autumn) she makes a wish...

...and it is granted. Now Hermione Beauchamp, younger sister of Claire Fraser, she is a gifted archivist. She finds Claire in 1948, back from the stones for the first time, and tells her that she knows she is a time traveler, and she can help her get back to Jamie. What transpires is the adventure of a lifetime, with Jamie and Claire reuniting before Brianna's birth (and thus being able to have more children), telling Jenny and Ian about the future far earlier, and Hermione finding the one man she cannot live without.
