GRACIE PRINCE was Max Dennison's best friend ever since they were in the second grade, and they had such a sweet relationship. He'd give her cookies he made himself and ask her out, she'd say no while smiling despite herself, and that worked... for a while.
Then, in 4th grade Gracie's parents lost their jobs and had to start searching for new ones. Eventually, the Princes couldn't pay their bills and lost their house, but it was mostly okay, beacuse the Dennisons offered that they could live with them until Gracie's parents found new jobs and buy their house back.
And Gracie's family did go to live with Max's, but, unfortunately, that's the only thing that went according to plan. Gracie's parents worked in a museum, and weren't much experienced in anything else, and they couldn't afford to go back to school, they needed jobs now.
The only museum job they could find was at the Salem Witch Museum; all the way across the country, which meant that Gracie had to move away from her best friend. She and Max were devastated, but it had to happen. They didn't really have another choice, did they? So, in 5th grade, the Princes moved all the way to Salem. Yayyy.
Then, 5 years later, Max's family also moves to Salem, and while Max was mostly opposed to the move, he was happy he'd get to see Gracie, his best friend again, and maybe see if those feelings from years ago were still there... after all, he'd been thinking about her every day since she left, so he assumed that meant yes.
And will Max tell Gracie about his deep, long-lasting feelings for her, or not? And, will Gracie feel the same? Who knows? How will we ever find out? Well, three witches trying to steal their souls may just be the very reason that these two lovesick fools of teenagers finally confess their feelings to each other. Thank God, thank you Sanderson Sisters(something I never thought I'd say).
