After solving the case of Devipuram and Khatra, Maya had gone to solve the mysterious affair of the Krishnanagar royal family. What should have been officially her first case with Raktim turned out to be the cause of his death. She solved the case, yes, but lost her beloved. Heartbreak after another, she vows to never fall in love again. The sunshine dies, replaced by venomous shadows.

Suddenly, she gets an invite from the famous University of Occult, Kirkston, and decides to leave India and her past behind to start afresh. There are friends and foes in Kirkston, as well as unexplainable supernatural entities. Maya thinks this will be her new life, until a series of peculiar murders spreads caution across the campus.

Adding blush to thrill, a man in the campus, Darius, is rumoured to have taken a liking to her. Maya is clear in her mind- no loving until death. But one night while escaping from a bunch of men, she finds Darius' face shifting to someone she thought was dead.
