In the ancient realm of Aethryn, where magic is both a gift and a curse, a boy named Aric Vale discovers that destiny has marked him with a golden-black Sigil-a power older than the Academy itself. Drawn into a world of shifting labyrinths, forbidden ruins, and shadows that breathe, Aric must navigate rivalries within the wizarding school and betrayals from those he trusts most. The Hollow, a realm of twisted magic and hungry darkness, stirs once more, led by the ruthless Malakar, whose ambition is to tear down the wards that protect Aethryn and plunge the world into eternal shadow. With allies at his side-Lyssia, a master of wards and strategy; Taron, a storm-wielding warrior; and Serenya, a shadow assassin torn between loyalty and vengeance-Aric faces brutal battles against supernatural creatures, dreadful encounters in cursed lands, and the weight of an ancient prophecy that binds his fate to the Hollow itself. But power is never without cost. As the Sigil whispers temptations of greatness and destruction, Aric must decide whether he will master the Hollow-or become its vessel. A story of rivals and alliances, ambition and betrayal, battles and dark wonder, The prophecy of aethryn is a sweeping tale of suspense, sorcery, and the struggle between light and shadow.

After their decisive victory over Orinovo, Lys-Akkaria's army crosses the border to take back territory that used to be theirs. With the combined forces of a lightweaver and shadowforger, Orinovo doesn't stand a chance. In spite of their newfound advantage, Ainreth finds himself doubting the war effort, though his concerns go unvoiced as freeing Lys-Akkarian minorities of Orinovan oppression takes precedence. Things, however, get much more complicated when they discover an ongoing conspiracy among the Orinovan monarchy. With a threat like this looming over them, the Lys-Akkarian leaders call for a siege to end the war before the problem becomes much worse. Ainreth's doubts of the warfare only continue to fester still, even despite the clear necessity of the drastic measures being taken, resulting in high tensions. He and Fennrin argue more and more with each passing day, and things only escalate from bad to worse when Daryan Varilik gets involved with his own hidden agenda.
