When young Violet Long learns of her mother's illness, she knows that her mom's time is limited. When Violet was only 3 her father abandoned her and her mother, leaving them to fend for themselves in this cold world. Violet goes on a search for her father, but is also confronted by the problem known as love. She falls deeply for Kyle Walker, a tall, blonde, shaggy haired gamer that transferred from Boston to New Orleans. Violet can't decide if she should leave Kyle to find her dad who's been gone for 13 years of her life or to stay with this new savior, Kyle. As she strains to pick, she discovers her once resolved depression is arising. Will Violet make it?
