Beneath the shadow of an ancient mountain lies an entire civilization of Pokémon who were banished long ago, forced to survive in the caverns. To the Surface, they are rebels, exiles, and criminals. To themselves, they are survivors.

When Finch, an adventurous and free-spirited Jolteon from the Surface, is found half-dead in the caverns, his fate becomes entwined with Kuro, a careful and reserved Umbreon of the Underground.
