"Veins of the Eight" (八脉之血 - Bā Mài zhī Xuè)

"Some legacies are written in ink. Ours are written in blood."

This tells the tale of 'Xuē Seryn (薛·赛琳)' and 'Zhào Cael (赵·凯尔)' along with 'The Vein Lords (脉尊 - Mài Zūn)' and the friends they make on the way, as they embark on fate changing adventures, laced with blood, heritage, abilities and the fight for power among clans and the forces behind them.

His eyes meet hers. A pause.

"Who are you?", she spoke

"Who are you?", he repeated

They stare.
No birds. No trees. No answer.

He paused. That same breathless pause a man might take before he steps off a cliff he once built.

"You... don't remember me."

Cael appeared behind her, brows slightly furrowed. He did not recognize the man-but he felt it, like an old scar hidden in his bones.

"I am Xuè Jǐngwáng," the stranger said, voice both mournful and reverent, "You once called me Jǐng."

Seryn stepped back.

"I don't..." She looked at Cael. "I... know him?"

You've changed," the Stone Warden said, settling onto the worn bench beside him.

"We all have," Jǐngwáng replied. His voice was quiet, but not tired. "You didn't come all this way just to tell me that."
