Before Sonic and his friends ever appeared in the human world due to Chaos Control, G.U.N. - or Guardian Units of Nations - had already created a life form that surpassed even the likes of the "Project: Shadow" Nobody could have guessed that they, without the brilliant mind of the fabled Dr. Gerald Robotnik, that they could have made such a valuable military asset. In the aftermath of the carnage, within the flaming wreckage of divine wrath, a man approached 02 with an offer- to master his power and conquer the world. Yet, this brought no satisfaction to him as he learned to master this seemingly chaotic, this uncontrollable power. He rebelled against this man, too, and came to the realization that humans, not matter who they were, couldn't be trusted, and retreated into the nature and never to be seen again.

The Multiverse is quite an expansive space, don't you think? Well, what if I told you about a world where Neo Metal Sonic was actually Organic and was much more powerful than even Sonic the Hedgehog himself? This organic being was a clone of Sonic using his DNA to create the perfect life form of overwhelming strength and will. Eggman gave this creature the name : "Y/N Robotnik". However, due to him being a clone, he didn't desire to be kept up as a cage and a slave, and Sonic's DNA within him craved freedom. After a crushing defeat, Y/N finally snapped and decided to leave the Eggman Empire to find his own path. This eventually led him to a confrontation with Sonic - the original - allowed him to come to a realization and understand as to what he truly wanted. He was Sonic, and Sonic was him, and both wanted the same thing in life - to protect others.
