Had they both somehow managed to turn it into an inside joke. Yep. Did he still feel guilty for the incident. Without a doubt. "I'm still really sorry about that, Honey."

"Don't be." She waved him off. Sure, she couldn't eat chips without triple checking the ingredients now, but she wasn't mad at him. If anything, the night that she spent in a hospital bed with Cole in the chair nearby and both of their parents unreachable was sort of fun. You know, minus the whole 'almost dying' part. "But if you really want to make it up to me, you can try and explain what football exactly is."
