Olive, a nineteen-year-old girl, has always lived quietly in her own little world. Shy, timid, and easily flustered, she often wears oversized pastel sweaters and seeks the comfort of her stuffed animals. Sweet to her core and with a heart too soft for the world, Olive's parents worry about how sheltered she is. Hoping she'll learn to open up and explore life more, they send her to live with the Walter family, where her best friend Jackie is already like an older sister to her.

Living with the Walters brings Olive a sense of belonging she's never had before. Jackie looks out for her, making sure she's safe and happy. But things grow complicated when Cole Walter, Alex's charismatic older brother, takes a sudden interest in Olive. Known for being reckless and charming in equal measure, Cole is the exact opposite of Olive's quiet, delicate nature. Jackie warns him to stay away, determined to protect her timid best friend from heartbreak.

But Cole can't ignore the way Olive makes him feel. There's something about her softness, her innocence, and the way she blushes at the smallest things that draws him in. To him, Olive isn't just another girl-she's a mystery he can't resist solving.
