Scientist, veteran, and Avengers liaison was the perfect facade for Eleanor Grace. And for the most part, it was true. She's really the Blackbird; Special Agent, scientist, and in charge of the Enhanced.
Close friend and colleague of Agent Phil Coulson, she's asked to join his new Special Ops team created in the wake of his death and resurrection, which entails leaving Captain Steve Rogers, whom she helped adjust to the new century.
But when something dark and terrible arises that threatens to uncover her past, and a certain soldier confesses his feelings, just how far will she go to keep her deep dark secrets, secret?

That smug, egocentric asshole trying to prove that he knew best, arguing with her about a patient, when she had lost it, and punched him in the face. *** Stephen Strange was a man who prided himself on being the best, and here was this woman, who was telling him how to do his job. After a public disagreement, that resulted in her suspension, when she hit him, he had found out that she was none other than Tony Starks sister. When new intel comes through about a Hydra weapon, the avengers split into two teams, one checking out a new base, while the other scours an old one. It's no coincidence that the intel comes through, and they find files about experiments done to one person. 'winter 2.0' the team calls her, but to Bucky, the fear sinks in as memories resurface about one soldier in particular, Ace. Stronger, deadlier and she made the winter soldier in him afraid. The work together to find out all they can, not realising that they are being watched by the very soldier herself. After an attack on the compound, which leaves quite a few of the team shaken, one avengr in particular is intrigued by the univited guest now residing in the holding cells. Who is the masked assailant, and why is it, she listened to him? **** The soldier begins to remember her past, fighting against all the Hydra conditioning, to remember who she was. Why does one of the men stand out? Who is he, and why does she have an overwhelming need to protect him? She knows Hydra will stop at nothing to get their soldiers back, but will she submit to Hydra or fight for right to live free?
