Solana Campbell never asked to be famous. She just wanted to write, maybe pay rent on time, then go back to writing and avoiding drama like it's her job. Quinton Dynevor is London's favorite scandal. He's seen as arrogant, ill-tempered, and a playboy. Unfortunately for him, his scandals won't get him signed to his dream team. And thanks to one ill-timed photo, the internet is convinced they're a couple. He needs to fix his image. She needs a book deal. It's supposed to be an arrangement: public smiles, private distance, mutual gain. But in the quiet moments between flashes and lies, Solana starts to wonder if there's something real behind the performance. And Quinton? He's starting to forget where the act ends. Fake hand-holding starts feeling a little too real. Private jokes become habit, and the line between pretending and wanting disappears completely After all, the goal was never to fall in love.

Elysa Degras' junior year of high school has been off to a rocky start. Soccer practices have been kicking her butt, her advanced math class has really been kicking her butt, and her history teacher just blackmailed her into joining the school's (ultra nerdy) Quiz Bowl team. And if that wasn't bad enough, her recent budding attraction to her best friend has also been complicating her life. Especially since she went and lied about it, blurting some preposterous nonsense about having a secret boyfriend to try and explain all her recent weird behavior. In an attempt to salvage the situation and save her friendship, she decides to enlist the help of one of her brother's friends to pose as the supposed new boyfriend, but there's something more than a little suspicious about Luke Haywood, and it's not just his unnerving ability to make their relationship seem anything but fake. She's almost positive he's hiding something, and with everything else spiraling dangerously out of control, she can't afford to leave his secret in the dark.
