[WARNING:THIS STORY IS R18. NOT FOR YOUNG READERS!] Josie stared in horror at the smoldering ruins where the nightclub once stood. The building was gone with nothing left but ashes and smoke curling into the night sky. She turned to Cassie, her eyes widened in shock and panick, "We need to leave here right now!". Cassie, though trembling with fear, wasn't ready to give up the search just yet. "But what about the father of your child?. We still need to find him". "Cassie are you insane!". Josie snapped, her voice raw with disbelief. She thrust a hand toward the charred wreckage. "Look around you, Cassie! He did this. Lorenzo did this!". From the very first moment she laid eyes on him, Josie has always felt that creeping sense of dread as though danger itself wore his skin. But never in her wildest dreams did she ever think he was capable of doing something so extreme. Burning an entire club to nothing just because they failed to track her down. And to think he was one of their biggest investors. Her voice broke, fierce with desperation. "There is no way in hell I'm letting my child anywhere near a man like that. Lorenzo can't be a father to my child, he's a deranged psycho. And my baby is safer as far away from him as possible."

Valeria didn't rush. She never did. Inez was pinned beneath her, wrist locked overhead, the hold precise and impersonal. Not pain. Control. Inez scoffed anyway. "That's it?" she sneered. "I've had tutors scarier than you." Valeria said nothing. The silence pressed in. "You don't scare me," Inez added, louder. Brattier. "You just-" "Enough." One word. Flat. Final. Valeria lifted Inez's chin with two fingers, detached as a correction. "Look at me," she said coolly. "If you're going to embarrass yourself, do it properly." Inez laughed, brittle. "You think this makes you powerful?" "I don't think," Valeria replied. "I decide." Her gaze never wavered. "You provoke because it's the last control you have." "I don't belong to you," Inez snapped. Valeria leaned in, voice razor-thin. "You are my wife. You belong to consequences." She released her grip. "Say it." "No." Valeria waited. The quiet broke Inez, she hated being ignored. "...I'll behave, I'll be a good girl" Inez muttered. "Specify." Inez swallowed hard. "...I'll be your good girl" Valeria stepped back, already distant. "Good," she said. "Remember why." #1 older women-13th February (FAST PACE BOOK)
