Drawn into Pugsley's chaos-part boy, part monster-Eugene discovers an impossible bond: sweet, consuming, and doomed from the start. Together they stumble through experiments, antidotes, and secrets that cling like cobwebs in the halls of Nevermore.

But as the rot grows stronger, Eugene must face the cruelest truth. Love can't cure death. And when the hive falls silent, so must he.
