Aurelia is 23 years old when she dies from Alzheimer's disease. She is cold and speaks only a few words. She doesn't like to talk to anyone except her parents, who love her very much. Because of her illness, she never had time to make friends. The only people she knows are the doctors and nurses in the hospital. Aurelia is intelligent and has a goddess-like beauty-her skin is as white as snow. But what does that matter when she has an incurable illness, even in this high-tech generation? Her body and mind are slowly dying, but her parents love her so much that they do their best to prolong her life. There are times when she forgets her parents' names, even her own.
One day, her illness worsens. Her parents rush her to the hospital, but she suffers a convulsion and a heart attack. She doesn't even get the chance to say goodbye to her beloved parents. Before she takes her last breath, she wonders what heaven might look like. But when she opens her eyes, it's not a creature with white wings and a halo that she sees. Instead, she notices herself lying on the ground. She looks around and sees wild plants and tall trees everywhere. She even hears the sounds of animals and insects nearby. She is in a forest.
She sighs and lowers her head. She is wearing a blue dress, now full of cuts and dirt. She also notices her long black curly hair, which surprises her because her hair was always straight and healthy. She touches it, then noticed her hands, which are covered in scratches and bruises. She doesn't remember having any bruises or scratches before. Her parents were so protective that not even mosquitoes ever touched her skin.
She stands, but her knees tremble. "Where am I?" she asks. "What is this place?" Before she falls again onto the dry leaves and dirty ground of the forest, a rush of memories floods her mind-memories she doesn't remember happening in her life before. "What is this? Who is Eira?" Then she touches her cheeks. "Why am I crying?"
