To heal an imperfect universe, a god must first create a perfect world... and then orchestrate its annihilation. In the valley of Aethelgard, peace is the only law. Protected by a silent Goddess of blue energy, a civilization flourishes in perfect harmony, knowing neither pain, sickness, nor conflict. Their existence is an endless lullaby. But the young artist Lyra, tormented by a melancholy she cannot name, feels a dissonance in the perfect melody, a deep sadness in the soul of her goddess that no one else seems to notice. On the other side of the impenetrable mountains, in the world of Askir, life is forged in fire and pain. Under the brutal light of a merciless sun, these people believe that struggle is sacred and that the peace of Aethelgard is a blasphemy that drains the world's vitality. Led by the prophet Vorlag, the young and devout warrior Joric is raised for a single purpose: to become the hammer that will shatter the glass paradise. What none of them know is that this impending conflict is not the work of chance or destiny. It is the final move of Kaelos, the cosmic Architect, the same being they know as the Goddess Kyira. Seeing a fundamental flaw in Creation itself, he designs a desperate cure: a planetary-scale soul surgery, where the annihilation of some is the only hope for all. But when the sacrificial lamb discovers the shepherd's knife, and the hammer begins to feel the weight of the souls it must crush, can a god's perfect plan survive the indomitable will of those he intends to sacrifice? In a universe where perfection breeds stagnation and pain breeds strength, what is the true price of salvation? And can a lie, even a divine one, ever give birth to a lasting truth?

Every year, Lyra's village gathers beneath the ancient statues of the Fates, offering prayers and sacrifices to keep the creeping darkness at bay. The Ruined Kingdom stands in the distance, a forbidden place where no one enters and no one leaves. A place ruled by a king who does not age, does not die, and does not care for the world beyond his walls. Lyra has never believed in fate, only in survival. With her mother's health failing, she is willing to do whatever it takes to save what little she has left. But when this year's ritual goes terribly wrong, Lyra is taken-ripped from the life she knows and thrust into the heart of a kingdom lost to time. There, she is told she has been chosen. That she, along with others, must vie for the favor of a king no one has seen in over a century. But something is wrong within the castle's walls. Whispers of the past haunt her steps, and the King-cold, untouchable, and shrouded in secrets-watches her too closely. As shadows stir and forgotten magic awakens, Lyra begins to question everything she's been told about the Ruined Kingdom. And, more importantly, about herself. Because the deeper she delves into the mystery of the King and the kingdom he rules behind the walls, the more she realizes: Some destinies are written in blood. And some fates are meant to be broken.
