In a post-collapse America, three girls cling to each other in the ruins: Scarlet, soft-spoken but burning with something divine; Donna, obsessive and loyal to the point of cruelty; and Frevren, beautiful and fleeting, always running before she can be caught. Together they wander from forest hideouts to California communes, chased by infected monsters and haunted by their own betrayals. But when Scarlet is declared Completed not immune, not sick, but something else entirely she begins to believe she was meant to save the world.
