❗️This story takes place in Nigeria Twenty-year-old Ella is entering her final year of university, a period that should be filled with hope and excitement for the future. Instead, she feels a crushing weight of expectation and an isolation that only intensifies her battles with depression and anxiety. Her academic work, once a source of pride, has become another mountain to climb, and her social life feels miles away. The only bright spot is David, a kind and charismatic course mate. Her growing crush on him is a much-needed distraction, a flutter of excitement that pulls her out of her own head. But as she gets closer to David, his easygoing confidence highlights her own deep-seated insecurities. As the academic pressure mounts and her internal world becomes more difficult to navigate, Ella must confront her anxieties head-on. She's forced to reconcile the person she presents to the world with the person she is struggling to become. Her final year becomes less about getting a degree and more about a journey of self-discovery, where she must learn to find her own voice, accept her true identity, and decide if she's willing to risk everything to live a life that is truly her own.
