What happens when you give a broken society godlike powers?
Ever since the 2000s, gods, known as 'Entities,' exist in between the mortal realm and their personal ones. Those who form pacts with them are blessed supernatural, godlike power beyond comprehension. They become what is known as Warlocks.
But with power comes conflict.
Bound to their Entities that they serve, and all of the clauses they must follow, Warlocks walk a morally gray and faded line. Some push for balance and peace, others abuse their abilities and strength for dominance and subjugation. In the not-too-distant future of 2056, in streets of Cleveland, Ohio, Warlocks have split into factions. Some fight for peace, others for dominance. But all of them want one thing in the end: The High Artifact - an ancient, reality-warping, altering relic that has made its way from the edge of the universe.
Whoever reunites it... reigns supreme.
Now shoved into this new, unforgiving lifestyle, Nate, a young 19-year-old newly awakened Warlock, must navigate the rules, rivalries, and rising violence. As factions clash and loyalties shift, Nate will need to and must learn how to survive, and FAST.
Because in this world? Power is everything. And those without it... don't live long.

This is my very first story! All of what this is just me doing this for fun and sharing what goes on in my imagination. I am open to all advice, as this is the first time I've decided to write and share my ideas! Once again, I am not a professional writer, I'm just someone who likes to create and craft worlds for everyone to see. With that being said, I hope you like the story! Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. Despite it being well past sunrise, the house was dark. I had woken up with a start, hearing the sound of a car below but now as I lay awake, I was in even more of a panic. "Don't make a sound."
