They say you never really forget your first love. They also say distance makes the heart grow fonder. That couldn't be truer for Soriyah and Mekhi.
Mekhi was a hardheaded, ambitious, tough kid who grew up too fast. He wanted his peers' money and respect, and by the time he reached 27, he had gotten all he could ever dream of. A hood celebrity, some feared and respected him while others envied and hated him. On the outside, he was the man who had everything, but on the inside, there was a void that never seemed to get filled.
Soriyah was the complete opposite: brains, beauty, and drive. She was determined not to let the streets swallow her whole. Instead of chasing Mekhi's fast lifestyle, she was chasing something bigger. Something better--a doctorate and a future that would allow her to raise her children better than she had been raised. At 26, she found herself making the hardest decision of her life.
Homecoming season is always a trip down memory lane. A weekend of fun and adventure, or at least that was what Micah was expecting, but sometimes those memories have a way of changing everything.
