Gwyneth had always felt connected to her faith, a higher power presiding over her. That faith had shaken that devastating day those years ago, the day that went on to haunt her every nightmare for years to come. She's still trying to come back from it, to not only restore her faith in life and love, but her faith in herself. The sanctity of her spirit- she prayed for resolve. Every punch was a prayer. Every mile was a hymn. Until her knuckles bled and her knees gave. Azriel had been surrounded by darkness his whole life, a poison on his world, on his being. He exercised restraint in his every waking moment, banishing that darkness within himself. Some guessed of the strain it put on him, but no one knew the extent of it, how deep his scars ran. It was better this way, he was sure. He had always thought that if there were a higher power- which he wholly doubted- such deities must loathe him to have burdened him such darkness. He hadn't much faith in the gods anyway, much less faith that he could sway their opinion on him. But Gwyneth and Azriel did have one thing in common: the quiet fight within themselves. They only knew one way: to go about it alone, couldn't fathom letting another in. But there's a magic in finding someone who is your equal but opposite, something transforming. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF. Aligns with the events in my other fic: A Storm of Flames and Deceit. I haven't finished Crescent City, so this story takes place outside of the events of those books as well. CONTENT WARNING ⚠️ Mentions of r*pe, use of profanity, explicit content, sexual content, violence, torture, mentions of suicidal thoughts and depression, mentions of self harm

"You're a spoiled, ungrateful brat." Asher snarled, turning around so suddenly that I nearly fell from the sheer momentum. His blue eyes blazed with an icy fire as they narrowed into slits. "Why are you so ignorant?" He took a large step towards me as his words rocketed around the room. I bit my trembling lip with all the strength in the world. No freaking way. Absolutely not. I refused to cry in front of him. "Can't you see that I care?" His tone so dangerously quiet, so very low. I pushed myself back further into the stony wall, hoping it would swallow me whole. "Is that not enough?" His eyes dropped to my lips, flickering back up as quickly as they had fallen. All I could see was him, all I could feel was him. He had captured every single one of my senses. And I hated it. He made me feel things that I sure as heck didn't deserve to feel. "To hell with the rest of them." He growled, "you're mine." ------- Ariella Gates is the daughter of one of the richest men in the world. As someone who is set to inherit billions, she's never had to lift a finger. Unfortunately, no one expected her 'beloved' daddy to die so soon. Thrown into a world of poverty, Asher Kent, a pessimistic yet handsome cleaner, reluctantly takes her under his wing. They say that opposites attract. Let's test that fictitious, romantical theory out. ----------------------- A bucketload of heart fluttering romance, a dash of tragedy and a hint of danger. INCLUDES SOME MENTION OF THE FOLLOWING TOPICS - violence, physical and emotional abuse, death, mental health and eating disorders. ----- A massive thanks to @june-writes for this amazing cover. **This was previously published as Unleashing Demons. However, it's had a full edit and is now twice the length it was previously. If you read Unleashing Demons, definitely read this re-write!** Some say all it takes is one day to change a life. Kyla Marshall would beg to differ. She knows all it takes is a single, fiery act of rebellion. When Kyla accidentally sets an ancient oak tree ablaze, she unknowingly triggers a series of events that would make even the Devil raise an eyebrow. Enter Azazel and Balthazar, two of Lucifer's most notorious Princes of Hell, currently on their annual three-month vacation in a sleepy English village. Wrapped up in their own bitter feud and sibling rivalry, these demons have no idea they're about to become the catalyst for a woman teetering on the edge of darkness. Witnessing one of their explosive arguments firsthand, Kyla's dormant rage awakens, threatening to consume her entirely. As she delves deeper into the supernatural world, seeking answers, Kyla discovers her own place within it-and a whole lot of power to go with it. While the demon brothers trade barbs and blows, Kyla battles her inner demons, struggling to control her newfound abilities before they control her. But there's a dark, sinister force lurking on the horizon, one that not even the Princes of Hell saw coming. Can Kyla master her powers before she loses herself to the darkness? Will Azazel and Balthazar stop bickering long enough to help her? Or will they all fall victim to the evil creeping ever closer? Prepare for a wickedly humorous and devilishly steamy tale of power, darkness, and the thin line between salvation and sin.

Azrael, the Angel of Death, has found a way to avenge his brother and save his people: to do so, he must betray the beautiful and dangerous creature that has stolen his heart. When the bite of a Lycan heralds his coming mortality, Azrael must make bold decisions: decisions with heavy consequences. With his people counting on him for salvation, no path seems like a good one. Until he meets Her, and his path becomes clear. Then, she steals his heart, and he can no longer stand to pay the price of peace. Saskia, the Daughter of Darkness, is determined to take her fate into her own hands: she must overcome her fear of losing herself to the dark secrets of her past... Without losing her heart in the process. Saskia is a soul-stealer: her dark touch kills everything around her. And now, that power is threatening to take over, destroying the fragile self she has created without her memories to guide her. She can't know who to trust, and who means her harm behind false smiles. But when a rakish, red-eyed Angel touches her skin-- and survives-- everything changes, and she must resist the passion he ignites in her. But it turns out, he's not the only one: someone else can touch her too, someone that claims her as his Mate. Will she choose vengeance, with the wicked Angel of Death-- whose touch alters her down to her soul, and whose protective embrace makes her heart race-- or will she give up her hated power to be with her smouldering Fated Mate, who secrets his passion beneath an icy exterior? ~*~*~ Updates every FRIDAY @ 17:00 MDT
