RWBY - Forest Eternal

Did you ever hear the Tale of the Eternal Forest?

It's said long before Ozma established his Kingdom, a forest once existed, with trees withered and bent, but never staying as it was the last time seen, and a fog escaping the reach of the trees. It was said to hold ancient knowledge and hidden treasures that could change the life of whoever found it. But the cost for searching the forest's depth was too great for anyone to dare enter, except the bravest or most foolish adventurers.

As the years went by, a town was established on the cusp of the swirling fog, built to warn any travelers of the forest and the danger within it. Sheltering anyone determined enough to enter it or anyone who managed to escape. Then one day, as if hearing the story, King Ozma visited the town and entered the forest despite the town's warnings. But upon his return, he brought no secrets of great power or treasures of vast wealth, but a single command, ordering his royal guard to "Burn it down!"

The townspeople fled through swirling fog and ash as their town was burned with the forest. scattered across the land, forbidden to return, but as they marched with tears and betrayal in their heart. The Youngest amongst those taking a piece of the forest with them swore to take revenge on Remnant for what had occurred, promising to one day remove all that they held dear.

But was that the truth? Was the tale changed over time? What really happened to the forest and its people?

(The Forest never forgets, even if the world does. Old pieces stir in the shadows, much to the king's surprise and the queen's annoyance. Hope flickers in the fog of an endless mystery, and an ancient bloodline steps back into the light after millennia in the shade.
