14-year-old Aria is in the foster system and has what most people like to call "an attitude problem."

In her eyes, it's not an 'attitude'-it's survival.

Sarcasm is her shield, silence is her weapon, and if she rolls her eyes hard enough, maybe no one will notice the way her hands shake when doors slam too loud.

She's been with her current foster family for the past five years, and their abuse has been the worst of them all.

The kind that hides behind locked doors and perfect smiles for the neighbors. The kind that teaches you not to flinch in public, but never lets your bruises fade in private.

♬⋆.˚

Aria doesn't cry anymore-she learned young that tears only made them angrier. Instead, she grits her teeth, sharpens her tongue, and waits for the day she can get out.

Her social workers call her "difficult." Teachers call her "disruptive."

But really, she's just a girl with scars people don't bother to see, carrying secrets she's too smart to share.

What no one knows -not even Aria- is that the blood running through her veins carries a legacy far darker and more powerful than anything this foster family could imagine. A legacy that comes with 5 brothers who would quite literally burn the world for her

She hated them. They loved her with everything in them. The universe truly has a sick way of telling you it's there, doesn't it? From being kidnapped to being abused, that was all Arabella saw in life. It was all she ever knew. They tell you to keep fighting but sometimes you realize... you were just a child. Now she's built herself up using her pain as the next step to her strength. She's learnt how to strive forward even as her past haunts her mind crawling up her back every passing second. That is until the first 7 people who only ever brought her pain find their way back into her life. She has no way to let go of her past when they come right back to her. The world showed her no mercy in it's ways so why should she. ~~~ I let out a small sigh wanting more of this. I wanted to be held like this whenever I felt broken. Feel the way he puts me back together in his arms. It ate at my heart and I could have sworn I felt a feathery kiss on my head. It was as if he could hear my thoughts and was kissing them away for me. Slowly he lets one hand go, the other staying around me as he brings my chin up to him gently wiping my last tears as more fill my eyes. He sees this and his eyes look... crumbled. If you feel this way then why can't you choose me, Dominic. I shake my head from his hands wishing to step back but he pulls me back to him a pain filled groan leaving him. "Just one more minute. Please." His body shook and I brought him closer, feeling our pain become one. Our hurricanes of minds pull away even for the smallest time letting us stand together as one in each other's embrace. He was it for me. But I wasn't his.

"Nowhere is safe, you know?" Foster homes, orphanages, replacement homes, you name it, Georgia Monroe has never fit in anywhere. From a young age, she has only known that running away and constantly losing track of those that are supposed to care for her, is a way of survival. A way to escape. She hardly knows her real name, as people are constantly trying to change it, whilst all she wants to do is fit in. It's like she knows that she has a real family out there, no matter how many times people try to tell her that they either didn't want her, before explaining all the reasons why no one would want her, or that they all died, and she will never know them. For years, Georgia has tried to decipher the difference between words thrown at her in rage and due to alcohol, but as the years go by, it is harder to see the difference. It's harder not to believe the words. The words of her family not wanting her and that they may be dead, probably as a result of her sake. All she wants, is a pair of safe arms that will take the stress of her shoulders, for a little while. Only, she doesn't know how great of a deal she is asking of those that are her family. She will never understand the depth of the work that her real family has been intertwined, and maybe not living with them, has kept her alive. Has made her a stronger person than she would have been if she had grown up with them from the beginning. Georgia, though it may feel like to her, isn't the only one that has suffered. Though her brothers home may be idealistic and fit for a king and queen in her eyes, it is far from it. Behind all the luxury and money spilling from the walls, it hadn't been like that their entire lives. It wasn't easy to attain such wealth without risking a few lives here and there, including Georgia's, their sister. __________________________________________________________________ Started: 11.10.21 Finished: 21.08.22 Rewritten: 17.08.25 -
