Congratulations, Mrs. Randhawa. You're pregnant."
The words felt like molten lava pouring into my ears. For most women, this moment is the purest joy - the miracle of knowing they're going to be a mother.
But for me? I felt... nothing.
This child wasn't a symbol of love; it was a reminder of his sin. And now I was left with a choice: do I end this life before it begins, or do I carry it inside me, pretending nothing ever happened?
Lost in my thoughts, I almost didn't hear the doctor's voice.

"Sanvi, are you okay?"

I nodded faintly. "Yes, Doctor... I just need your help. Please don't tell my husband about my pregnancy yet."
She sighed gently. "Sanvi, I'm your doctor, but I'm also your friend. Take care of yourself."
With that, she left the room, leaving me alone with my storm of thoughts. I turned and froze.
Aarmaan was standing in the doorway, his eyes fixed on me.
"Are you okay?" he asked softly. I hope so he didn't hear anything, but his eyes they never lie.
I could only nod, slipping past him without a word.
At home, I moved through the house in a daze, heading for my room. Halfway up the stairs, his voice cut through the silence.

"I know, Sanvi."
My body went rigid. I wanted to turn, to meet his gaze, but I couldn't move.
"I know you're pregnant," he continued quietly. "And yes... it's my baby. But it isn't a sin."
He stepped closer, his tone steady but filled with regret.
"What I did was a sin. But this child? This is an innocent soul, growing inside you."

The silence between us was heavy, fragile. Then he spoke again.

"Whatever you decide, I'll stand by you. If you choose to keep the baby, I'll support you. If you decide not to, still I'll stand by you - but don't make the choice just to punish me. I'm ready to face whatever punishment I deserve, even prison if that's what it takes. But don't let my mistakes decide this child's fate."

"Stop there" I startled at the sudden loud voice. I turned my head towards it's direction. There I saw him standing near our bedroom door. Or should I say his bedroom? He kept on staring at me angrily while my fingers are trembling. I gulped loudly which made him to smirk devilishly. He pointed his index finger at my dresses and things which he threw out from his room. Now it looked like a mess. "Take all this mess to the room near the kitchen. Never ever try to get in my room again. Got it?" He asked me in a icy tone. I stared at his eyes which showed pure hatred and disapproval. When he found I am not gonna respond to his question, he shook his head and muttered something under his breath. He went into his room and closed the door behind him with a bang which brought me back into reality. I felt a warm liquid running down my cheeks. I placed my hand on it to find it is my tears. 'No Kavi You are stronger than this. Dont cry. Dont show your weakness' I said to myself.
