Congratulations, Mrs. Randhawa. You're pregnant." The words felt like molten lava pouring into my ears. For most women, this moment is the purest joy - the miracle of knowing they're going to be a mother. But for me? I felt... nothing. This child wasn't a symbol of love; it was a reminder of his sin. And now I was left with a choice: do I end this life before it begins, or do I carry it inside me, pretending nothing ever happened? Lost in my thoughts, I almost didn't hear the doctor's voice. "Sanvi, are you okay?" I nodded faintly. "Yes, Doctor... I just need your help. Please don't tell my husband about my pregnancy yet." She sighed gently. "Sanvi, I'm your doctor, but I'm also your friend. Take care of yourself." With that, she left the room, leaving me alone with my storm of thoughts. I turned and froze. Aarmaan was standing in the doorway, his eyes fixed on me. "Are you okay?" he asked softly. I hope so he didn't hear anything, but his eyes they never lie. I could only nod, slipping past him without a word. At home, I moved through the house in a daze, heading for my room. Halfway up the stairs, his voice cut through the silence. "I know, Sanvi." My body went rigid. I wanted to turn, to meet his gaze, but I couldn't move. "I know you're pregnant," he continued quietly. "And yes... it's my baby. But it isn't a sin." He stepped closer, his tone steady but filled with regret. "What I did was a sin. But this child? This is an innocent soul, growing inside you." The silence between us was heavy, fragile. Then he spoke again. "Whatever you decide, I'll stand by you. If you choose to keep the baby, I'll support you. If you decide not to, still I'll stand by you - but don't make the choice just to punish me. I'm ready to face whatever punishment I deserve, even prison if that's what it takes. But don't let my mistakes decide this child's fate."

Love Deal

#1 in short-story out of 325K stories!! on 28 September 2023 Give it a try!! ---‐-------- "So I was not worthy of you?" It was more of a statement for Anvi. Her voice was broken. Rudra prayed her finger from the necklace and held her hand. "Sweet.....It was never about what I thought. It was always about what you thought." Rudra pulled up her chin gently to look into her eyes. "If you thought you were good enough for me, you would have never proposed the deal. You would have never put your health at risk to achieve it. And yet I had always seen you as a kind little girl who took care of me like a mother. Who would make samosas for me when I came home. Who would wait outside my room for hours together. Who would make sure that my socks were restocked every summer. And many other things.....Baby it never occurred to me to measure your worth. I was not in love with you back then, but you were a part of my life, sweet." He finished with a sweet tender kiss. "You..you..knew?" A very red Anvi asked in astonishment. "What? That I was your first crush?" He smirked, turning her redder by the second. "Now let me kiss you before you put on that lipstick." He pulled her into a soul-satisfying kiss. ______________ It is a beautiful journey of Anvi and Rudra. A short heart warming love story.
