Jordina "Jay" Lara swears she can handle life on her own. Sure, she's accident-prone, allergic to mangoes, and occasionally gets into wrestling matches with IKEA furniture-but independence is her badge of honor. At least, that's what she tells her overprotective brother and her best friend Lex.

So when Lex secretly signs her up for Plus One-a companionship service that sends vetted, non-romantic partners to keep clients company-Jay is ready to explode. She doesn't need a tall stranger with dimples, dry humor, and an alarming tendency to catch her every time she trips. Enter Silas "Sam" Alonzo, certified software developer by day, accidental knight-in-shining-napkins by night.

What was supposed to be a strictly professional, two-days-a-week arrangement turns into grocery runs, late-night rescue missions, and one too many "almost" moments that feel nothing like business. Jay insists it's just a service subscription. Silas seems determined to prove otherwise.

And as walls she's built for years start to crack, Jay has to decide if surviving alone is enough...or is it finally time to risk being caught?
