After the defeat of Robotnik, the royal Hedgehog family ushers in a new era of peace in Mobotropolis.  However, when Crown Prince Sonic discovers the remains of his enemy that indicate his survival, Sonic is faced with a hard choice: abandon the crown, or abandon the world.  His hero's heart dictates his choice, and results in his disownment.  Now, twenty years later, he's called back to play the hero because of a prophecy, and he's far from happy about it.  After all, blood ties mean nothing if the people who disowned you only want to use you.  Will Sonic be able to make Queen Aleena see that, or is the storm they forecast one of their own making?

His actual father was also quirkless but was able to compete with some the strongest hero's and villains, even though it was forced, became part of the strongest group of very questionable hero's.
