In his arms held the small form of Tenko Shimura, the young boy who he had saved from the mental mindscape of both Tomura and All for One. The young boy had taken a blow that would've killed Izuku Midoriya if the boy hadn't gotten in the way of the attack. And as Izuku held the boy, he watched as the 5-year-old Tenko started to decay right in front of him, unaware of the fact that his body was screaming at him to drop him and continue the fight. Across the battlefield Izuku could see that Tomura himself was decaying as well, and as he pulled the boy to his chest, Izuku cried for the failure to protect him. And once the boy had fully decayed, Izuku's own hands began to decay as well, considering he was holding the boy... Izuku could accept the fate of not letting him go.
